Most people enjoy a Christmas market. Whether it be for all the interesting gifts and trinkets that can be purchased or the delicious treats - everyone has at least one aspect that they enjoy. Luckily for us, it is just about that time of year again. So, gather your Christmas cheer and family members to visit one of the many fabulous markets that will have their doors open soon.
Stellenberg Feesmark
Situated on the corner of Mountain View Drive and Edelweis Road is one of the biggest and maybe most prestigious Christmas markets in the Northern suburbs - The Stellenberg Feesmark. Doors open from 17 October to 5 November 2022. Their opening hours are as follows: Weekdays from 10:00 - 20:00 and Saturdays from 09:00 - 18:00. Entrance and parking are free for everyone. Accessibility is easy for all wanting to attend and provision has been made for wheelchairs and prams. This year the Stellenberg Fessmark boasts over 450 exhibitors, so there promises to be a wide variety of products to browse through and buy. For those less interested in gifts and trinket shopping, there is a large variety of food vendors on site that promise to tantalize those taste buds. Pizzas, burgers, bagels, breakfast, cakes, curry, samosas, roast chicken and roosterkoeke are but just a few of the delicious meals on offer.
Kenridge NG Geskenkemark
Next on the to-visit list of the Christmas markets is the Geskenke Mark (present market) at Kenridge NG Church which is situated at 2 Maestricht Street, Kenridge. Slightly smaller in size compared to the Stellenberg Feesmark, but not lacking in beautiful gifts on offer. You can expect to find anything from toys, clothing, jewellery, jam, chutney, décor, plants, and yummy food. There will be free parking and entrance for all wanting to attend. The Kenridge market will have its doors open from the 23rd of November till the 3rd of December 2022.
Uitsig Christmas Market
The Uitsig Christmas market is celebrating its 22nd market this year from the 21st of November till 9 December 2022. Uniquely offering mostly handcrafted items which have been created by local entrepreneurs. Their pop-up restaurant promises to turn those hunger pangs into happy shoppers. The Uitsig Christmas market also offers a variety of payment methods to suit a variety of different shoppers. This market promises to be an avid shopper's dream.
Festive and Vintage Market
What is Christmas without a touch of vintage flair? For those yearning for something vintage and unique be sure to visit the annual Festive and Vintage Market at the stunning Simondium Country Lodge. This market will have its doors open from 26 to 30 October 2022. Both old and new are wholeheartedly embraced at this market and visitors can look forward to a great visual experience. New exciting exhibitors are also making their appearance this year, adding to the excitement available. Everything at the Festive and Vintage Market has been carefully curated to ensure that this is a unique market experience. You can stock up on Christmas gifts and maybe find an item or two for yourself too. Opening times are between 09:00 till 17:00 from Wednesday to Saturday and on Sunday they will be open from 09:00 to 15:00.
Cape Gate and Tygervalley Festive Markets
Finally, are the Cape Gate and Tygervalley Festive Markets. The Cape Gate Festive Market is new and will be set up in the parking lot of Cape Gate Shopping Centre between the Checkers and Woolworth's entrances. The market will be held in a marquee tent. This market will have its doors open from the 3rd till the 24th of December and will have the same trading hours as the mall.
In Tygervalley Central arena will be where you can find the beautifully decorated annual Tygervalley Festive Market. Slightly smaller compared to the Cape Gate Festive Market, but it promises to pack a punch. The market will have its doors open from the 9th of December 2022 till the 8th of January 2023, therefore this is a great way to spend a day out during the holidays. Like the Cape Gate Market, Tygervalley Festive market will also follow shopping Centre trading hours. Both these markets have beautifully designed gift options, as well as scrumptious food items.
